Winner of Splash into Summer Blog Hop!

The Winner of the Splash into Summer Blog Hop is:
Cindy Macbeth

I'm going to send her a email and she has 72 hrs to respond before I pick another winner.
Sorry it took so long to pick a winner.

Electronic Issues

So I haven't been able to post for about 2 weeks. My lovely siblings use my laptop alot and most of the time they use it until the battery dies. They do this and then try to plug it up to charge it to find that the plug is broken...crazyness and very very sad Elaina. So I ordered a plug Memorial Day weekend and it took FOREVER to get here. Bright side I have my plug and beautiful laptop back. YAY!

So I have alot of catching up to do. I'm going to post the winner for the Splash into Summer giveaway Hop in a little while. Then I have some reviews to post and another giveaway. The giveaway will be posted hopefully tomorrow.

So what awesomeness have a missed?! How is everyone doing?

Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a topic brought to life by Jill over at Breaking the Spine. With Waiting On Wednesday I get to introduce everyone to upcoming books I am excited about!

This week I'm waiting on:

Fins are Forever(Fins#2): July 1, 2011
On Lily Sanderson’s eighteenth birthday she’ll become just a girl—still a mer girl, true, but signing the renunciation paperwork will ink Princess Waterlily of Thalassinia out of existence. That leaves plain old Lily living on land, dating the boy she loves, and trying to master this being human thing once and for all.

Now that Lily and Quince are together, mer-bond or not, she’s almost content to give up her place in the royal succession of Thalassinia. But just when she thinks she has everything figured out, Lily’s father sends a certain whirlpool-stirring cousin to stay with her on land. What did Doe do to get herself exiled from Thalassinia and stuck in terraped form, when everyone knows how much she hates humans? And why why why is she batting her eyelashes at Lily’s former crush, Brody?

The seafoam on the surf comes when a merboy from Lily’s past shows up. Tellin asks Lily for something that clouds her view of the horizon. There’s a future with Quince on land, her loyalty to the kingdom in the sea, and Lily tossing on the waves in the middle. Will she find a way to reconcile her love, her duty, and her dreams?

Flying Blind(Dragon Diaries #1): June 7, 2011

The next generation of shape-shifting dragons from the popular author of the Dragonfire novels.
Zoë Sorensson is perfectly normal, except she's been told she's destined for great things. Zoë's the one female dragon shapeshifter of her kind. But Zoë is at the bottom of the class when it comes to being Pyr and her powers are AWOL, so she's sent to a Pyr boot camp.
Zoë quickly realizes that she has to master her powers yesterday, because the Pyr are in danger and boot camp is a trap. The Mages want to eliminate all shifters and the Pyr are next in line-unless Zoë and her friends can work together and save their own kind.

What are you waiting on this Wednesday?

Forgive My Fins by Tera Lynn Childs

Summary(from Goodreads): Lily Sanderson has a secret, and it’s not that she has a huge crush on gorgeous swimming god Brody Bennett, who makes her heart beat flipper-fast. Unrequited love is hard enough when you’re a normal teenage girl, but when you’re half human, half mermaid like Lily, there’s no such thing as a simple crush.

Lily’s mermaid identity is a secret that can’t get out, since she’s not just any mermaid – she’s a Thalassinian princess. When Lily found out three years ago that her mother was actually a human, she finally realized why she didn’t feel quite at home in Thalassinia, and she’s been living on land and going to Seaview high school ever since, hoping to find where she truly belongs. Sure, land has its problems – like her obnoxious, biker boy neighbor Quince Fletcher – but it has that one major perk – Brody. The problem is, mermaids aren’t really the casual dating type – when they “bond,” it’s for life.

When Lily’s attempt to win Brody’s love leads to a tsunami-sized case of mistaken identity, she is in for a tidal wave of relationship drama, and she finds out, quick as a tailfin flick, that happily-ever-after never sails quite as smoothly as you planned

My Review:

I started this book one night after work and I stayed up until I finished it, which didn't take long. You fly through this book laughing the whole time. I've read Oh. My. Gods. by Tera and I loved it. I'm really glad this one didn't disappoint. The cover is gorgeous and its one of the main reasons that I picked this book up to read.  The story line is great Lily is the girl that most of us are in high school. She is in love with the guy of her dreams. She has the boy next door who she is convinced has made it his life goal to annoy her to death. She has her best girl friend who she calls to gush too about everything that happens to her. Then she has her mer-best friend who she meets every week to keep up with the happenings of her home Thalassinia. I loved loved loved Lily's terminology:
"Lord love a lobster, he has a beautiful chest."
This is one of my favorite lines, i'm not sure how long I laughed over this line its just so awesome.

I can't wait for the next book which comes out June 28th. You can learn more about the author and her old and new books on her website. If you are looking for a great, fun beach read I suggest all of her books.
