Lily’s mermaid identity is a secret that can’t get out, since she’s not just any mermaid – she’s a Thalassinian princess. When Lily found out three years ago that her mother was actually a human, she finally realized why she didn’t feel quite at home in Thalassinia, and she’s been living on land and going to Seaview high school ever since, hoping to find where she truly belongs. Sure, land has its problems – like her obnoxious, biker boy neighbor Quince Fletcher – but it has that one major perk – Brody. The problem is, mermaids aren’t really the casual dating type – when they “bond,” it’s for life.
When Lily’s attempt to win Brody’s love leads to a tsunami-sized case of mistaken identity, she is in for a tidal wave of relationship drama, and she finds out, quick as a tailfin flick, that happily-ever-after never sails quite as smoothly as you planned
My Review:
I started this book one night after work and I stayed up until I finished it, which didn't take long. You fly through this book laughing the whole time. I've read Oh. My. Gods. by Tera and I loved it. I'm really glad this one didn't disappoint. The cover is gorgeous and its one of the main reasons that I picked this book up to read. The story line is great Lily is the girl that most of us are in high school. She is in love with the guy of her dreams. She has the boy next door who she is convinced has made it his life goal to annoy her to death. She has her best girl friend who she calls to gush too about everything that happens to her. Then she has her mer-best friend who she meets every week to keep up with the happenings of her home Thalassinia. I loved loved loved Lily's terminology:
This is one of my favorite lines, i'm not sure how long I laughed over this line its just so awesome.
I can't wait for the next book which comes out June 28th. You can learn more about the author and her old and new books on her website. If you are looking for a great, fun beach read I suggest all of her books.
My Rating:
